Fluorine-Free Water-Repellent Fiber

Fluorine-free water-repellent finishing agent is used to add oil to the fibers after drafting and spinning to give the fibers water-repellent properties.
Fluorine-Free Water-Repellent Fiber
Feature

(1)Water repellency test: Spraying method ≥90 (Test standard AATCC22-2017 ≥90: The rating range of this test is from 0 to 100. A higher value indicates better water repellency of the fabric. A sample with a score of 90 has  (sporadic) wetting at the spray points on its surface, which means the textile has excellent performance in terms of water repellency and can effectively resist water wetting.

(2)Test method for water-based liquid repellency: Water/alcohol solution resistance ≥ Level 7 (Test standard AATCC193-2023 ≥ Level 7: The test grade ranges from 0 to 8, with Level 8 indicating the best surface water resistance, and Level 7 indicating that the fabric shows high water-based moisture repellency in the test and can resist the wetting of water/alcohol mixtures with low surface tension.

A water-repellent film with oriented arrangement of water-repellent molecules and low surface tension is constructed on the fiber surface through chemical cross-linking. When water droplets come into contact with the fiber surface, due to the low surface energy, the cohesion between water molecules is greater than the adhesion between water molecules and the fiber surface. This makes it difficult for water droplets to spread on the fiber surface, thus forming water beads that roll off, achieving the water-repellent effect.
